Balance is Important

Balance is important and our programs are designed with a mixture of theory, practical learning and vocational experience. You will have contact hours with your trainer by way of introduction to subjects, both theory and practical, then your role is to undertake practice and study of what you have learned.

Assessment is through a collection of evidence, being practical observation, review test and assignments. A consistent and satisfactory level of competency must be demonstrated throughout the program. There are both competencies and hours of input to be satisfied over the program.

These are listed in your training program and scheduled to be completed by the end of that plan. As an Example a level II qualification will take 5 months, level III around 8 months, a IV around 12 and Diploma can be up to 18 months, when attending three days a week.

With an attendance of three days a week, one of those is to be designated to practical applications on clients otherwise that day may be served in practical placement in a salon. During the learning period it is important that all external work is completed before the conclusion of the program.

Students often select a “study buddy” where they share their experiences and bounce ideas off each other or extra times can be made available to practice with a model. The on-line resources are a fascinating way to learn, with tasks to complete, games, puzzles and activities as well as an on line test.

This program has been developed in tandem with the text book issued.* ( not available in all courses). Awards. Once all competencies have been met then a qualification certificate is issued. Where all competencies may not have been achieved, either because of not completing the course or not being able to meet all assessment criteria, then a Statement of Attainment is issued.
