Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing?

Dreaming of a career in Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing?

Your dreams of providing high class beauty services at a  resort salon, starting your own business, working on a cruise ship or as a make-up artist in film and television or be in demand as a wedding make-over specialist. This could now become reality.

1to1 Beauty Therapy Training offers accredited courses in Beauty, Nails and Hairdressing at all levels, at our exclusive salon location in Mount Waverley where the classes are small, the training is delivered by elite industry practitioners, plus we keep up with the latest technology and trends.

Attendance is three days per week with only two days required if you have practical placement or work in a salon on the third day.  This leaves you available for part time work, gaining more industry experience or for family commitments. As a recognized training organization our trainees may apply for Centrelink support.

You can have every confidence that you will receive individualized quality training at 1to1, as we have a high profile and are preferred providers by practitioners already working in the beauty industry.  With over forty years of experience in hair and beauty training we are also developers of educational programs and advanced technology applications for Estheticians.

Beauty

Qualifications start at a Level II covering salon reception duties, providing advice on skin care and make-up as well as offering assistance to the therapists.
Level III includes grooming services such as waxing, lash and brow services, advanced make-up techniques along with manicure and pedicare services.
At Level IV there is more  ‘in depth’ science concerning skin and body treatments along with facials and the introduction to using technologies such as non-surgical face lifting, cellulite treatments and more advanced make-up.
Diploma, level V becomes more specialised with choices that may include Spa services or Aromatherapy treatments. Subjects such as electrolysis and cosmetic tattooing are offered under special arrangement.

Hairdressing

Starting at level II this equips the trainee to assist in a Hair salon with hands on work such a specialised shampooing, head and shoulder massage, scalp treatments and assisting technicians with colour and reformation treatments.
Level III in Hairdressing is in the highest demand by salon owners as it provides  comprehensive training in all service areas from hair design through all colour and lightening techniques to hair reformation and straightening. This is underpinned by knowledge of hair science and chemistry of hair cosmetic products.
For those seeking advanced skills Certificate IV covers  complex colour problems, creative hair-cutting and design along with leadership and management skills.
The Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management is based on the implementation and maintenance of the business.  This would cover writing a business plan, financial management and promotion.  This qualification can lead to higher qualification such as a Degree in Business studies. It is a must for any owner or person in salon management.
